Η βρετανική εταιρεία για την ασφάλεια της ναυσιπλοΐας Ambrey ανακοίνωσε πως αμερικανικής ιδιοκτησίας φορτηγό πλοίο μεταφοράς χύδην φορτίου υπό ελληνική σημαία ζήτησε στρατιωτική συνδρομή δηλώνοντας πως δέχθηκε «πυραυλική επίθεση» σε απόσταση περίπου 93 μιλίων ανατολικά του Άντεν της Υεμένης.
Το πλοίο δεν χτυπήθηκε καθώς οι πύραυλοι κατέληξαν στη θάλασσα, περίπου 15 μέτρα μακριά από το πλοίο, και το μόνο που υπέστη το πλοίο είναι ένα σπασμένο τζάμι. Οι πέντε Έλληνες αλλά και τα υπόλοιπα 18 μέλη του πληρώματος είναι όλοι καλά στην υγεία τους, σύμφωνα με την τελευταία ενημέρωση του υπουργείου Ναυτιλίας και Νησιωτικής Πολιτικής.
Πρόκειται για ένα πλοίο μεταφοράς χύδην φορτίου σιτηρών, από την Αργεντινή στην Υεμένη.
