Στις 23:00, ο Ερντογάν συγκέντρωνε το 49,94% των ψήφων με σχεδόν το 90% των ψήφων καταμετρημένων, σύμφωνα με το Anadolu.
Επίσης, σύμφωνα με τον ιστότοπο Gazete Duvar, με το 88,59% των ψήφων καταμετρημένων, το ποσοστό που συγκεντρώνει ο Τούρκος πρόεδρος έχει πέσει κάτω από 50%.
Με την εξέλιξη αυτή ανοίξει η προοπτική διεξαγωγής δεύτερου γύρου προεδρικών εκλογών στις 28 Μαΐου.
