A Malta-flagged container ship was targeted with three missiles in the Red Sea while sailing from Djibouti to the Saudi city of Jeddah, causing explosions near the ship, according to British maritime security firm Ambrey. The attack came just a few hours the US Central Command (USCENTCOM) announced that it has shot down five unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Red Sea, claiming that the UAVs presented an imminent threat to the US-led coalition and merchant vessels in the region. Δύο χτυπήματα από αέρος και θαλάσσης δέχθηκε το ελληνόκτητο φορτηγό πλοίο Tutor σημαίας Λιβερίας στην περιοχή της Ερυθράς Θάλασσας με αποτέλεσμα να υπάρχει εισροή υδάτων στο μηχανοστάσιο του.
Σύμφωνα με το Λιμενικό Σώμα Ελληνική Ακτοφυλακή από την επίθεση το πλοίο φαίνεται να έχει υποστεί σοβαρές ζημιές και εισροή νερού στο μηχανοστάσιό του, ενώ έως αυτή τη στιγμή δεν έχει αναφερθεί κάποιος τραυματισμός. Στο πλοίο δεν επιβαίνουν Έλληνες ναυτικοί ενώ πιθανότητα το Tutor να χρειαστεί να ρυμουλκηθεί σε λιμάνι ασφαλείας. Η επίθεση από αέρος σύμφωνα με τις πρώτες πληροφορίες έγινε από ένα μη επανδρωμένο αεροσκάφος.
