Παρουσίαση του φωτογραφικού βιβλίου “The Itinerary” (Η Διαδρομή)
Την Δευτέρα 3 Απριλίου 2017 στις 18:30 στον πολυχώρο “WE” (3ης Σεπτεμβρίου & Γρ. Λαμπράκη, Θεσσαλονίκη) ο «Εξώστης» σε συνεργασία με το Dukakis Center του ACT διοργανώνουν την εκδήλωση παρουσίασης του βιβλίου έντεκα δημιουργών με τίτλο “The Itinerary • Tracing the Refugee Routes” (Η Διαδρομή • Ιχνηλατώντας τις διαδρομές των προσφύγων).
Η παρουσίαση έχει την μορφή συζήτησης και διαλόγου με τους δημιουργούς καθώς επίσης και εξειδικευμένους ομιλητές, σε συνδυασμό με οπτική παρουσίαση του υλικού του βιβλίου και όχι μόνον. Πρόκειται για ένα συλλογικό έργο έντεκα “σιωπηλών μαρτύρων” μιας από τις μεγαλύτερες ανθρωπιστικές καταστροφές της σύγχρονης εποχής µας, έτσι ώστε κανείς να µην μπορεί να πει “Μα δεν ήξερα τι συνέβαινε”.
Το βιβλίο που έρχεται ως λογική συνέχεια της ομότιτλης έκθεσης, καταγράφει και παρουσιάζει με ατάραχη αποφασιστικότητα και αξιοπρέπεια τους διάφορους σταθμούς και στάσεις κατά την διάρκεια της διαδρομής των προσφύγων, από τα σημεία εκκίνησης του οδοιπορικού των προσφύγων και την προσπάθεια τους να προσεγγίσουν τους διαφορετικούς προορισμούς. Αυτοί οι σταθμοί βρίσκονται στα σημεία εκκίνησης όπως το Ιράκ, η Συρία, ο Λίβανος και η Υποσαχάρια Αφρική, την διαδρομή στην Ελλάδα, την ΠΓΔΜ, τη Σερβία και την Ουγγαρία – την λεγόμενη “Βαλκανική Οδό” (Balkan Route).

Currently, there are more than 223,000 Syrians in Iraq of which some 98,000 live in 8 camps constructed in response to the Syrian refugee influx into Iraq in August 2013 and some 125,000 reside in urban areas. About 91,000 (41%) of the Syrian population in Iraq are children. Due to proximity and other factors, the vast majority of Syrians in Iraq i.e. 212,000 (97%) are hosted within the Kurdistan Region-Iraq (KR-I).
Domiz Refugee Camp was established by local authorities back on in April 2012 to host the Syrian Kurds. The camp located 20 kms southeast of Dohuk city, in Iraqi Kurdistan and some 60 km from Syria/Iraq border.

The area of the camp is not enough to accommodate the existing refugee population. Additional land was allocated and is being developed. Some 1800 families are either sharing tents with other families or live in irregular locations and are in need of settlement in proper areas of the camp which are under development.

Χαρές και αγώνες αναδύονται μέσα από τις αδιάψευστες λεπτομέρειες της ζωής: το μοίρασμα του ψωμιού μέσα σε εγκαταλελειμμένα εργοστάσια, οι σωροί των σωσιβίων, τα καταστήματα νυφικών μέσα στα στρατόπεδα, τα ανήσυχα βράδια στο σκάφος, οι ασφυκτικές σκηνές και τα ύπουλα νερά.
Το βιβλίο, που θα είναι διαθέσιμο κατά την διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης, είναι μια απόπειρα να θιγούν, μέσα από έντεκα φωτογραφικές γωνίες και οπτικές, που μας δίνουν το πλεονέκτημα της αποφυγής της προσχηματικής γνώσης, οι διάφορες πτυχές του κεντρικού ερωτήματος “τι είναι πρόσφυγας?”. Παράλληλα θίγει και το κρίσιμο ζήτημα του τέλους της διαδρομής, το οποίο δεν είναι ορατό.
ΟΛΑ τα έσοδα από τις πωλήσεις του βιβλίου θα διατεθούν για τη στήριξη των προγραμμάτων της ΜΕΤΑδρασης για τα ασυνόδευτα παιδιά στην Ελλάδα.
Η είσοδος είναι ελεύθερη. Τα έσοδα από την πώληση του λευκώματος θα διατεθούν για την ενίσχυση των δράσεων της «Μετάδρασης» για τα ασυνόδευτα παιδιά στην Ελλάδα.
Στην παρουσίαση του βιβλίου, θα μιλήσουν:
Από τους δημιουργούς οι Δημήτρης Μπούρας και Νίκος Παλαιολόγος.
Μέσα από τις προσωπικές εμπειρίες, ιστορίες και εικόνες θα προσπαθήσουν να απαντήσουν στο βασικό ερώτημα που η έκδοση θέτει: Ποιος είναι «ένα πρόσωπο που φεύγει αναζητώντας το καταφύγιο ή την ασφάλεια, ειδικά σε μια ξένη χώρα”; Τι είναι μια «ξένη χώρα», «πολιτική αναταραχή», και τέλος όροι όπως “δραπετεύουν” και “ασφάλεια”? Θα συγκρίνουν τις συντριπτικές ομοιότητες του ανθρώπινου πνεύματος κατά τη διάρκεια της κρίσης. Τις γραμμές της πορείας, τους φράχτες και τους τοίχους που περιβάλλουν τους πρόσφυγες στην ευρωπαϊκή φαντασία.

Δρ Δημήτριος Γουλής, Δ/ντης του 67ου Δημοτικού Σχολείου Θεσσαλονίκης. Το 67ο είναι το σχολείο που φέτος φιλοξενούνται 35 περίπου προσφυγόπουλα, στα πλαίσια της Δομής Υποστήριξης Προσφυγόπαιδων του Υπ. Παιδείας. Για τις δράσεις και τις προσπάθειες ένταξης αυτών των παιδιών, το σχολείο παρουσιάστηκε ως καλή πρακτική στο Διεθνές Συνέδριο Education for Refugee Children – Current practises and the way ahead (1 Δεκ, 2016, Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο, Βρυξέλλες, Βέλγιο)

Patrick Strickland Δημοσιογράφος και παραγωγός του Al Jazeera English.
Ο Patrick Strickland εξειδικεύεται στο ανθρωπιστικό ρεπορτάζ μέσα από διερευνητική δημοσιογραφία και έχει καλύψει το “προσφυγικό ζήτημα” από την γέννεση του και σε όλα τα σημεία που το βιβλίο καταγράφει. Επίσης είναι ένας από αυτούς που έχουν προλογίσει την έκδοση.
Δρ. Λαμπρινή Νάσση, εκ μέρους του Dukakis Center, δικηγόρος Νέας Υόρκης και Θεσσαλονίκης με συνεργασία (νομικές υπηρεσίες για τον ΟΗΕ) παρέχει μαθήματα νομικής στο Τμήμα Διεθνών Σχέσεων στο Αμερικάνικο Κολέγιο της Θεσσαλονίκης.
Στο τμήμα των ερωτήσεων και του διαλόγου με κοινό , θα παραβρεθούν και θα συζητήσουν με το κοινό οι 11 δημιουργοί του βιβλίου (Milos Bicanski, Andrea Bonetti, Dimitrios Bouras, Louisa Gouliamaki, Yannis Kolesidis, Yannis Liakos, Menelaos Myrillas, Nikos Paleologos, Anna Pantelia, Fotis Plegas, Orestis Seferoglou)
